Box Gutters

Our Work

Copper expands and contracts along its long axis. To account for this expansion and contraction in our box gutters and to keep the solder joints from breaking, we use a drip edge along the front edge which our metal “hooks” over, eliminating the need for fasteners and allowing it to expand along the long axis. Additionally, on the roof side we use clips that allow it the same freedom of motion. This, in conjunction with an expansion joint, lead to a very long-lasting gutter.

When making our gutters, we use 20-ounce copper. This is a thicker copper compared to the regular 16-ounce copper. The thicker the copper, the less it expands and contracts. And the less it expands and contracts, the longer the gutter will last.
